The Cookalong Podcast

When you need a little culinary inspiration and guidance, this is one concept that delivers.

Cindy has a huge passion for cooking, and her love of food has turned into a startup venture.  She sought out my help in implementing a concept for a cookalong podcast and website where at-home chefs can get inspirations... while following along!

The project is currently in the deployment and debugging stage to allow the client time to test new features and functionality, import batches of recipes, and write blogs and updates.

Unique ideas require unique implementations.

A unique WordPress project that required a ground-up approach. The most important aspect of this site was ensuring the right data was being displayed in the right place, at the right time, to avoid user confusion. The final version is now in the hands of the client for early user testing and to add more entries for final development. It includes a non-traditional home page, logic to handle recipe and blog pagination, as well a social media and SoundCloud integration. An emphasis was placed on mobile devices for kitchen use, while retaining a good desktop appeal for users to research recipes beforehand.

Keys to Project Success

The purpose and utility of the site had to be clear, as data needed to be managed proper output. The design hinged on how the site was to be used.

Ease of Use for Client

This is a site where content is changed often, so customizing the back-end for the client was needed to streamline content creation and avoid mistakes.

Both SoundCloud and social media integration is a necessity, so ensuring that platform integrations work well together was a priority.

I take the time to listen to your needs, brainstorm right along with you, and propose realistic plans of action for your project. I'm a stickler for details, and while I enjoy the work I do, I also take it quite seriously. As a professional, I don't cut corners with your project.

I don't believe in slamming out cheap templates or using stock settings on anything. It's not only your business image, but it's my reputation as a developer. I'm excited to help you where I can, and your success is high on my priority list.

Small-business affordable

I'm a professional that charges a fair market rate or packaged project price for my services. While I require a retainer to get started, I can invoice as we go for maximum flexibility. I can also set realistic expectations for your existing budget.
